THE LEFT'S DIRTY HIPPY PROBLEM

Any time the Left, progressives, whatever you want to call people who are not right-wing assholes, try to get a movement going the dirty hippies show up to make it look silly because, of course, the media interview them. Cleverness or weirdness should not overshadow the message. If the point is to create change you must convey a coherent message, get it out there, and motivate others to join in. The Occupy Wall Street protests have the right idea, but prove again that the Left just doesn't understand messaging. Remember Aristotle's rules of drama? Unity of Time / Unity of Place / Unity of Action ... there has to be ONE main message, ONE main action, and ONE place and time to do it - since this is a sustained campaign, Wall Street and any major bank anywhere is the place, and the chant should be only this, "Pay back the money you stole!" And why do these protesters in America ever destroy property and confront the police? You can make your point peacefully and with dignity. With regard to the Occupy Wall Street protests, activists need to be contacting police departments and remind them that their officers are union and had their pensions screwed with, their property values diminished and, really, should be marching with the protesters.
