THE U.S. SKILLS GAP

The wealthy 1% are blaming the "skills gap" for American workers' problems - stating that they lack the skill-set for a 21st Century economy. If these bankster/corporatists had not made the strategic decisions some 30+ years ago to privatize education and all kinds of public services, indebt our students with massive loan fees, and to seek off-shore cheaper labor, we would not be in this situation. The greedy capitalist pigs are blaming the victims (taking lessons from israel?) when they created the situation through their lobbyists and money affecting primarily trade legislation and their assault on organized labor. This situation was entirely calculated and many academics and policy experts warned all these years about the problem approaching and now we're in it. It also points up the great lie about "job retraining" - it is an after-the-fact band-aid to quell social disruption and not a solution - this retraining is never for the elite, high-paying jobs that we've offshored, it is always low or mid-level work - a lateral transfer or downgrade for most workers. The bankster/corporatists intentionally created the skills gap in order to increase profits at the expense of workers.
